Each year, a county commission keeps records of all claims made when dogs hurt or kill farm animals. By March 20th, the commission gives each approved claimant a payment from the county dog license fund. If there is not enough money in the fund to pay everyone fully, each claimant gets a fair share of whatever money is available.

Word-for-word law

273.130. s to be kept — s , when. — A complete record shall be kept of the 's proceedings, including the names of the s and cosigners and the amount paid to each applicant, and the number of or injured or killed. The commission shall on or before the twentieth day of March of each year give to the applicant a , drawn on the , covering the amount of his losses found by the commission. If there is not sufficient money in the fund to pay all allowed in full then said warrant shall be for his share of the money available.
