Repeal of license tax on dogs

If 100 or more voters in a county sign a petition asking to get rid of the dog license tax, the county commission has to put that question on the next election ballot. If more than half the voters who vote on that question say yes to getting rid of the tax, the county commission announces the results and publishes it in a local newspaper. After that, the dog license tax no longer applies in that county.

273.180. of on dogs — procedure. — 1. Upon the of a signed by one hundred or more voters of any county and presented to the at any regular or special session thereof, it shall be the duty of the county commission to the question, as to whether or not there should be repealed the law, creating a license tax on dogs, submitted to the voters, to be voted upon at the next . Upon the receiving of such petition, it shall be the duty of the county commission to make an order as herein recited.
