Animal care reserve fund created
License fees collected from animal care businesses go into a special fund called the Animal Care Reserve Fund. That money is used by the Department of Agriculture to run the animal care licensing program. Unlike most state funds, this money does not get moved into the general state fund at the end of a two-year budget period — it stays in the Animal Care Reserve Fund.
