Occupational diseases directly related to cleanup of an illegal drug manufacturing lab
If a peace officer or someone helping clean up an illegal drug lab gets sick from breathing in smoke, gases, or low oxygen there, that sickness can count as a work-related disease. This includes lung disease, heart disease, or cancer. The sick person has to show the illness was directly caused by being at the illegal drug lab.
287.070. Occupational diseases directly related to cleanup of an illegal drug manufacturing lab. — Disease of the lungs or respiratory tract or disease of the heart or , including , may be as occupational diseases for the purposes of chapter 287, and are defined to be due to exposure to smoke, gases, or oxygen, for peace officers chapter 590, or any person assisting in the cleanup or disposal if a direct is established to exposure to an illegal manufacturing laboratory.
