Legislative intent relative to other laws expressed
This law is about how Missouri's workers' compensation rules work alongside other benefit programs for public workers like firefighters and police officers. If a public employee gets hurt on the job and receives workers' comp payments, any pension or benefit fund money that comes from the employer gets reduced by a fair share during the time the worker is getting workers' comp. Also, if a public worker keeps getting their regular pay or fees after getting hurt, that time counts against how long they can receive workers' comp payments.
