Monetary bonus, effect on benefits

If a boss gives a worker a cash bonus of up to 3% of their yearly pay, that bonus does not count when figuring out how much a worker gets paid through a workers' compensation claim.

287.253. Monetary bonus, effect on benefits. — A monetary bonus, paid by an employer to an employee, of up to three percent of the employee's yearly from such employer shall not have the effect of increasing the compensation amount used in calculating the employee's compensation or wages for purposes of any governed by this chapter.
