Employee not to pay cost of insurance

Workers' compensation insurance costs money. This law says that the boss has to pay for that insurance. The worker does not have to pay any part of it.

287.290. Employee not to pay cost of insurance. — No part of the cost of such insurance shall be assessed against, collected from or paid by any employee.

(1963) Where city failed to maintain minimum required for had right to for or to pursue for and city would not be permitted to that claimant, whose common law action had been dismissed on city's representation that it was a self-insurer, by thereafter claim for compensation had elected to pursue that remedy in absence of knowledge of true facts concerning city's status.
