Accident
When a worker gets hurt and files notice of an accident, the state division tells the worker about their rights. The employer has to let the division know when they start and stop paying the worker, and must send in a doctor's report when payments end. If the employer and worker disagree about payment, the division helps the worker file a claim and get it settled quickly.
287.400. Accident — duty of — employer. — Upon receipt of notice of any accident for which other than that provided in section 287.140 is payable, the division shall inform the employee generally of his rights under this chapter. The employer shall notify the division as soon as payment of compensation is commenced and when terminated, and shall file with the division, at the time of notice of , a physician's report. In the event a dispute arises between the employer and the employee regarding the payment of compensation, the division shall assist the employee in a and securing an early thereof.
