Retirement with less than twelve years service
A person who worked as an administrative law judge or legal advisor for less than 12 years can still retire at age 65 or older. Their retirement pay will be smaller — based on how many of the 12 years they actually worked. For example, if they worked 6 of the 12 years, they get half the normal retirement amount.
