Removal from office bars benefits
A person who was removed from their job through impeachment or for bad behavior, or who lost their law license, cannot receive retirement benefits. The same goes for anyone who would receive benefits on that person's behalf. Also, if someone who receives benefits is accused of intentionally killing the judge or legal advisor whose benefits they are receiving, their payments are paused. If that person is found guilty, they lose the benefits for good. If they are not found guilty, the payments start back up and they get paid for the time that was missed.
