Law does not confer vested rights
The government can change or get rid of this law whenever it wants. No person has a permanent, guaranteed right to keep any benefits or protections this law gives them. Any rights people get from this law can be taken away if the government changes or cancels the law.
288.370. Law does not confer rights. — The the right to amend or all or any part of this law at any time; and there shall be no vested private right of any kind against such amendment or repeal. All the rights, privileges, or conferred by this law or by acts done pursuant shall exist subject to the power of the legislature to amend or repeal this law at any time.
