Military license plate application, voluntary contribution to World War I memorial trust fund
When someone in Missouri applies for a military license plate, they can choose to add an extra $10 donation to a special fund for a World War I memorial. When someone applies for any other license plate, they can choose to add $1 to that same fund. The money collected goes into the 'World War I Memorial Trust Fund' and is used only to restore, fix up, and maintain a World War I memorial or museum in Kansas City (a large city that sits in more than one county).
301.3033. Military , to World War I memorial — established. — 1. Whenever a vehicle owner this chapter makes an application for a military license plate, the shall notify the that the applicant may make a voluntary contribution of ten dollars to the World War I memorial trust fund established pursuant to this section. Whenever a vehicle owner pursuant to this chapter makes an application for a license plate, other than a military license plate previously described, the director of revenue shall notify the applicant that the applicant may make a voluntary contribution of one dollar to the World War I memorial trust fund established pursuant to this section. The shall all collected to the for to and in the trust fund.
2. There is established in the the "World War I Memorial Trust Fund". The state treasurer shall credit to and deposit in the World War I memorial trust fund all amounts received pursuant to 1 of this section and any other amounts which may be received from , gifts, , the federal government, or other sources granted or given for purposes of this section.
3. The shall the trust fund established pursuant to this section. The trust fund shall be used for the sole purpose of , renovation, and of a memorial or museum or both dedicated to World War I in any with more than four hundred thousand inhabitants and located in more than one county.
4. The state treasurer shall invest moneys in the trust fund in the same manner as are invested pursuant to section 30.260. All earnings resulting from the investment of moneys in the trust fund shall be to the trust fund.
