A person can get a special 'Prevent Disasters in Missouri' license plate to honor September 11, 2001 disaster relief workers. 301.3088. Prevent Disasters in Missouri, September 11, 2001, special , , fee. — 1. Any person who wishes to pay tribute to the disaster efforts made in the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001, may apply for special license plates as prescribed by this section for any motor vehicle such person owns, either solely or jointly, other than an or a d in excess of twenty-four thousand , after payment of an annual to the American Red Cross. Any contribution to the American Red Cross derived from this section, except reasonable , shall be deposited in and used solely for the purposes of the Missouri state area single family disaster . Any person may annually apply for such special license plates.
2. Upon annual application and payment of a twenty-five dollar contribution to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund, the organization shall to the vehicle owner, without further charge, an annual contribution statement, which shall be presented by the owner to the at the time of of a motor vehicle. Upon presentation of the annual contribution statement, payment of a fifteen dollar fee in addition to the and documents which may be required by law, the department of revenue shall issue to the vehicle owner a herein described. Such license plates shall have the words "PREVENT DISASTERS IN MISSOURI" the words "SHOW-ME STATE" and shall have a white background with a blue and red at the of the established in section 301.129*. The license plates shall be inscribed with the image of an American flag, and further shall be made with with a common color scheme and design, shall be clearly visible at night, and shall be aesthetically attractive, as prescribed by section 301.130. the of section 301.144, no additional fee shall be charged for the of license plates this section.
3. A vehicle owner, who was previously issued a special license plate pursuant to this section but who does not provide an annual contribution statement at a subsequent time of registration, shall be issued a new which does not bear the design as described in 2 of this section, as otherwise provided by law.
