Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives special license plate, application, fee

Missouri residents can get special license plates showing the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives' lineman emblem. To get them, a person pays $25 each year to the Association, which then gives them a statement to bring to the Department of Revenue when registering their vehicle. The money collected goes toward training programs for linemen. If a person stops paying the yearly fee, their next plates will not have the emblem on them.

301.3174. of Missouri Electric Cooperatives special , , fee. — 1. Any Missouri resident may receive special license plates as prescribed in this section after an annual payment of an to the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives. The Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives hereby authorizes the use of its official lineman to be on as provided in this section for any vehicle the person owns, either solely or jointly. Any to such association derived from this section, except reasonable , shall be used solely for financial for lineman training programs. Any Missouri resident may annually apply to the association for the use of the emblem.

2. Upon annual application and payment of a twenty-five dollar emblem-use contribution to the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, the association shall to the vehicle owner, without further charge, an , which shall be presented by the vehicle owner to the at the time of of a motor vehicle. 3. The bidding used to select a for the to the license plates authorized by this section shall consider the aesthetic appearance of the plate or plates.

4. A vehicle owner, who was previously issued a plate or plates with the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives' lineman emblem authorized by this section but who does not provide an emblem-use authorization statement at a subsequent time of registration, shall be issued a new plate or plates which do not bear the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives' lineman emblem, as otherwise provided by law.
