School bus endorsement, qualifications

In plain English

To drive a school bus for a public school in Missouri, a person needs a special add-on to their license called a school bus endorsement. To get it, the person must already have a valid Missouri driver's license, be at least 21 years old, and pass a special school bus driving test. The state will not give or renew this endorsement to someone whose license has been suspended, revoked, or who has a bad driving history. Drivers who are 75 or older must retake the test every two years to keep the endorsement. Someone who lives in another state and already has a valid school bus endorsement from that state does not need to get a Missouri one.
