Reduction of point value charged after period of safe driving

If a driver goes a full year without getting a ticket for a moving violation, their total driving points go down by one-third. If they go a second year in a row with no tickets, the remaining points get cut in half. After a third year in a row with no tickets, all remaining points are erased.

302.306. Reduction of point value charged after period of safe driving. — 1. For the first full year of operation without for a , the total charged against an shall be reduced by one-third.

2. For the second full year of operation without conviction of a moving violation, the remaining total accumulated point value charged against an operator shall be reduced by one-half.

3. For the third consecutive full year of operation without conviction for a moving violation, the remaining accumulated point value charged against an operator shall be withdrawn.
