A computer system for checking vehicle insurance must be up and running by December 31, 2027, or as soon as the technology is ready. Before it goes live, it has to be tested for at least nine months. The director of the Department of Revenue decides when the testing is done. Until testing is finished, no one gets in trouble based on what the system shows.
303.440. Operational date for — testing or . — The verification system established under section 303.430 shall be installed and fully operational no later than December 31, 2027, or as soon as technologically possible following the development and of a modernized, integrated system for the of vehicles, and renewal of vehicle registrations, issuance and renewal of driver's licenses and identification cards, and on vehicles, to be ed by the as created in section 301.558, following an testing or pilot period of not less than nine months.
