Slow speed, regulation of
Drivers are not allowed to go so slow that they hold up normal traffic, unless going slow is needed to drive safely or is required by law. On interstate highways, vehicles must go at least 40 miles per hour, with exceptions for bad weather or for farm equipment that has a special permit. Going too slow on an interstate is a class C misdemeanor, which is a minor criminal charge.

304.011. Slow speed, of — agricultural implements, slower speeds, when, s required — penalties. — 1. No person shall drive a motor vehicle at such a slow speed as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation or in with law.
