Municipality may prohibit storage of certain vehicles, exceptions

A city or town is allowed to make a local rule against keeping broken-down cars or unsafe vehicles out in the open. This rule does not apply to vehicles locked inside a building or fenced area where nobody can see them. It also does not apply to cars kept at a licensed junkyard, towing company, or storage lot that follows its license and zoning rules.

304.159. may prohibit storage of certain vehicles, exceptions. — Any city, town or village within this state may prohibit, by , the storage of vehicles or other vehicles by such city, town or village to constitute a public safety . Nothing in this section shall apply to a vehicle which is completely enclosed within a locked building or locked fenced area and not visible from adjacent public or private property, nor to any vehicle upon the property of a business d as , swap, , towing or storage facility so long as the business is operated in with its business license and the property is in compliance with applicable .
