Municipal law enforcement officers, state highway patrol to approve certification procedures

In plain English

Local police and sheriffs who want to inspect big commercial trucks on the road must first complete a special training course and get approved by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. There are rules about fees, safety data sharing, and regular program reviews that these agencies must follow. Safety inspections cannot be done on the shoulder of a road where the speed limit is over 40 miles per hour, unless there is enough safe space at an entrance or exit.
