Tractors exempt
Farm tractors do not need to be registered or show license plates when driving on public roads to get from one farm or field to another, or to drop off or pick up equipment, or for certain approved events. The state can decide which roads tractors are allowed on and can put up signs to keep tractors or heavy trucks off certain roads.
304.260. Tractors — designation of truck routes by . — Farm tractors when using the highways in traveling from one field or farm to another, or to or from places of or repair, or when participating in activities or events permitted under 13* of section 304.170 are exempt from the of the law relating to and display of , but shall comply with all the other provisions hereof. The shall have the power and to the type of road upon which such tractors may be used and may exclude the use of such tractors or the use of trucks of any particular weight from the use of certain roads or types of roads, by the of signs along or upon such roads or any part thereof.
