Rules for pedestrians controlled by special signs
When a crosswalk has special pedestrian signal lights, people follow these rules. When the light says 'Walk,' a person can cross the street that way, and drivers have to let them go. When the light says 'Don't Walk,' a person cannot start crossing, but if someone is already partway across from when it said 'Walk,' that person keeps going until reaching the sidewalk or a safe spot.
