Penalty for violations

If someone breaks a traffic or vehicle rule in this chapter and the law does not already list a specific punishment for it, they can be fined between $5 and $500, put in county jail for up to one year, or both.

Word-for-word law

304.570. for violations. — Any person who violates any of the of this chapter or of sections 307.020 to 307.295, for which no specific punishment is provided, upon thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than five dollars nor more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not exceeding one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
