Definitions

In plain English

These are the definitions for words used in a group of Missouri laws about active emergencies on roads. An 'active emergency' is any event on a road that needs emergency help. An 'active emergency zone' is the area around that emergency, including the road leading up to it starting 300 feet before someone can see warning signs, traffic devices, or emergency vehicles with lights on. An 'emergency responder' is anyone helping at that emergency, like police, firefighters, paramedics, or tow truck drivers.
