Result of election

In plain English

When a city holds a vote on whether to allow strong alcohol sales by the drink, the result decides what happens next. If most votes say YES, strong alcohol can be sold by the drink at bars and restaurants under the normal liquor laws. If most votes say NO, the city posts the result in a newspaper once a week for four weeks, and after that last posting, no new licenses to sell strong alcohol by the drink can be given out. Any licenses that existed before the vote was requested can finish out their time but cannot be renewed. Any voter in that city can challenge the election results the same way election results for county officers can be challenged.
