A bar that does not brew its own beer but offers 20 or more kinds of beer on tap is allowed to sell 32 ounces or more of that beer in a container for customers to take home. To count as a 'restaurant bar' under this law, the place must have a restaurant or similar food service, and at least half of its total income must come from selling prepared food eaten there.

311.196. , sale of beer permitted for without an , when. — to the contrary, any restaurant bar without an on-site brewery that serves twenty or more different types of may sell thirty-two fluid ounces or more of such beer to customers for consumption off the premises of such bar or tavern. As used in this section, the term "restaurant bar" means any having a restaurant or similar facility on the at least fifty percent of the of which is derived from the sale of prepared meals or food consumed on such premises.
