Beer required to be in possession of licensed wholesaler prior to sale at retail

Before beer or malt drinks can be sold in stores in Missouri, a licensed wholesaler has to actually receive the beer at their warehouse first. It cannot go straight from the maker to the store — it has to pass through a wholesaler's building in Missouri.

311.373. Beer required to be in possession of prior to sale . — All purchased for in this state prior to being resold at retail shall physically come into the possession of a licensed wholesaler and be unloaded in and from the licensed wholesaler's warehouse in this state.
