Register of documents, maintained by attorney general
The attorney general keeps a list of all papers filed by charities. Anyone can look at that list. But the attorney general can hide certain papers from the public — like ones gathered during an investigation or papers the law says can be kept private.
407.459. of documents, maintained by — public inspection, . — The attorney general shall establish and maintain a register of all documents filed by in accordance with the of sections 407.450 to 407.478. Such register shall be open to public inspection; except that, the attorney general may withhold from public inspection documents or obtained in the course of an investigation undertaken the provisions of this chapter, or which otherwise may be withheld from public inspection by law.
