Out-of-state principal with sales representative soliciting in this state, Missouri courts to have jurisdiction
If a company or person from outside Missouri hires a sales representative to go out and get orders from people in Missouri, Missouri courts are allowed to treat that company or person as if they are doing business in Missouri. This means Missouri courts can have power over them in legal cases.
407.914. Out-of-state with ing in this state, Missouri courts to have . — A principal who is not a resident or citizen of this state who contracts with a sales representative to in this state is declared to be in this state for purposes of the exercise of jurisdiction of the courts of this state under section 506.500.
