Convenience business defined
This law defines what counts as a 'convenience business' — it means a small store that sells groceries (or groceries and gas) and is open at some point between 11 PM and 5 AM. Restaurants, stores with 10,000 or more square feet, and stores owned by someone with only one location do not count. Cities and counties cannot make their own security rules for these stores — only state law applies.
