Credit for payments

If someone has more than one child support order for the same child covering the same time period, any money already paid under one order gets counted toward what is owed under the other orders. A person does not have to pay the full amount twice just because there are multiple orders.

454.1539. for payments. — A of this state shall credit amounts collected for a particular period any against the amounts owed for the same period under any other child support order for support of the same child issued by a tribunal of this state, another state, or a foreign country.
