Continuing, exclusive jurisdiction to modify spousal support order
When a Missouri court creates a spousal support order, that same court keeps the power to change it for as long as the support lasts. Missouri courts cannot change a spousal support order that was made by a court in another state or country if that other court still has the power over it. A Missouri court that made the original order can ask another state to enforce it, or handle changes and enforcement itself.
