Application of law of state
When Missouri courts handle a support case that started in another state, they use Missouri's own rules and laws — the same ones used for cases that started in Missouri. They also use Missouri's guidelines to figure out how much support someone owes.
454.1554. of law of state. — Except as otherwise provided by sections 454.1500 to 454.1728, a of this state shall:
(1) apply the and generally applicable to similar proceedings originating in this state and may exercise all powers and provide all available in those proceedings; and
(2) determine the and the amount payable in accordance with the law and of this state.
