A court can still make its own decision about how much child support a parent owes, even if a government director already set an amount. If the court makes a new order, that new order takes over for future payments. But any money the parent already owed under the director's old order still has to be paid. The director's order gets used in court as proof of what the parent was supposed to pay.
454.501. Support, courts, , effect of s. — Nothing contained in sections 454.465 to 454.510 shall courts of from determining the of a parent against whom an is entered by the the created by sections 454.460 to 454.505.
