Family support trust fund established
When child support payments are collected, they go into a special fund called the Family Support Trust Fund. This money is kept separate from state money and tracked carefully. Records of what comes in and goes out can be checked by government officials, courts, and the people involved in the support case. If the state was paid too much by mistake, that money can be sent back to the fund.
