Collection and enforcement
The same tools used to collect child support can also be used to collect medical support. These tools are extra options — they do not replace other legal options that already exist. Either parent or the state division can ask a court to add health insurance coverage to an old support order, and they do not need to show that anything big has changed in the family's situation to do so.
