Domestic violence intervention/rehabilitation pilot projects
Starting in 2001, Missouri set up to 20 pilot programs to help fight domestic violence. These programs work with police, prosecutors, and victim groups to investigate abuse, provide shelter, offer counseling, and teach communities about prevention. The programs report their work to state leaders every year.
455.305. intervention/ pilot projects — purpose, funding, s. — 1. Beginning in 2001, the of social services and the Missouri domestic violence established this chapter, shall establish and up to twenty domestic violence intervention/rehabilitation pilot projects. Such projects shall operate as satellite projects through existing domestic violence prevention facilities where no such facilities exist for the following purposes:
(1) To implement, expand, and establish efforts between law officers, prosecutors, victim advocacy groups, and other related parties to investigate and incidents of domestic violence;
(2) To prevent domestic violence and provide immediate shelter for victims of domestic violence;
(3) To provide treatment and counseling to victims of domestic violence; and
(4) To work in cooperation with the community to develop education and prevention strategies regarding domestic violence.
2. Funding for the pilot programs shall be subject to .
3. The department and the commission shall and regulations, pursuant to , to implement, administer, and monitor the pilot projects. Any rule or portion of a rule, as that term is defined in section 536.010, that is created under the in this section shall become effective only if it complies with and is subject to all of the of chapter 536 and if applicable, section 536.028. This section and chapter 536 are and if any of the powers with the pursuant to chapter 536 to , to dely the or to disapprove and a rule are subsequently held , then the of and any rule proposed or adopted after August 28, 2000, shall be and .
4. Beginning in 2001, the department and the commission shall submit an of its activities to the speaker of the house of representatives, the of the senate, and the governor before December thirty-first of each year.
