Proceedings independent of others
Cases filed under this law are their own separate legal matter. They do not replace or interfere with divorce cases, separation cases, or other legal actions between the same people. A person can pursue this and other civil or criminal cases at the same time.
455.534. Proceedings of others. — All proceedings under sections 455.500 to 455.538 are independent of any proceedings for , , and other actions between the parties and are in addition to any other available civil or criminal , unless otherwise specifically provided in sections 455.500 to 455.538.
