When an estate has more than one executor, and one of them quits, gets removed, or dies, the remaining executors keep doing their job managing the estate. The court can also decide to remove a surviving executor and bring in a new qualified person to help manage the estate if that would be better for the estate.
473.150. Remaining or to continue. — If there is more than one executor of an , and the of part of them are or surrendered, or part of them dies, those who remain shall all the duties required by law respecting the estate, except that the court, if it finds same to be in the interests of the estate, may the of the surviving executor, and with the to the survivor and some other qualified person to whom could have been granted if original letters had not been issued.
