RSMo 474.110effective 28 Aug 1955
Curtesy and dower abolished
In plain English
The old rules called 'curtesy' and 'dower' — which gave a husband or wife automatic rights to part of each other's property — no longer exist in Missouri. However, if someone already had one of those rights before this law took effect, they still keep it.
