A court can order that someone's real estate be sold publicly or privately. The sale price must be at least three-fourths (75%) of what the property was appraised for. The person managing the sale (called a conservator) is not allowed to buy the property themselves, even through another person.
475.235. of sale, contents. — The court may order the sold at public or , or it may, in its order, provide that the may sell at either public or private sale, at his ; but in no case shall the same be sold for less than three-fourths of its , nor shall the conservator become the purchaser, either directly or indirectly, of any of the property sold under the of this law.
