This section gives the official meanings of words used in a specific set of Missouri laws about guardianship and conservatorship. For example, an 'adult' means someone 18 or older, a 'guardian' is someone a court picks to make personal decisions for an adult who needs help, and a 'conservator' is someone a court picks to manage that adult's money and property.

475.502. Definitions. — the definitions in section 475.010, when used in sections 475.501 to 475.555, the following terms mean:

(1) "Adult", an individual who has attained eighteen years of age;

(2) "", a person appointed by the court to the property of an adult, including a person appointed under this chapter;

(3) "", a person appointed by the court to make decisions regarding the person of an adult, including a person appointed under this chapter;

(4) "", an appointing a guardian;
