Where waste committed pending suit, receiver may take possession

If someone is renting or holding land and a lawsuit about that land is already going on, and that person damages or misuses the land during the lawsuit, a court can put a neutral person called a receiver in charge of the land until the lawsuit is settled.

537.500. Where committed , may take . — If the of any land shall, pending a suit to recover or charge said land, commit any waste thereon, the court in which the suit may be pending may a receiver to take possession of the land.
