This law creates a group called the Board of Trustees to run a special risk management fund for Missouri government agencies. The board has six members: the attorney general, the commissioner of administration, and four people picked by the governor (with senate approval) who work for government agencies in the fund. No more than two of the governor's picks can be from the same political party. The four picked members serve four-year terms. No board member is personally responsible for any money claims made against the fund.
537.710. established — members, appointment, qualifications, terms, limited. — 1. There is hereby established a "Board of Trustees" of the Missouri risk management which shall consist of the , the and four members, appointed by the governor with the of the senate, who are officers or employees of those participating in the fund. No more than two members appointed by the governor shall be of the same political . The members appointed by the governor shall serve four-year terms, except that the original appointees shall be appointed for the following terms: One for one year, one for two years, one for three years, and one for four years. Any vacancies occurring on the shall be filled in the same manner. In appointing the initial board of trustees the governor may anticipate which public entities participate in the fund, and the appointees may serve the terms herein, unless they sooner resign or are in accordance with law.
