Fraudulent use of a credit device or debit device

In plain English

This law is about using a credit card or debit card in a dishonest way. A person breaks this law if they use a card that is stolen, fake, canceled, or one they are not allowed to use, in order to get stuff or services. It is also against this law to pay property taxes with a card and then cancel the payment on purpose without a good reason — especially if someone already got a tax receipt to get license plates. If the amount involved is under $750 in a 30-day period, it is a smaller crime. If it is $750 or more, it becomes a more serious crime.
