Imposition of sentences for both armed criminal action and crime committed with deadly weapon authorized, exception
A person can be given two separate punishments at the same time — one for the main crime and one for using a dangerous weapon while doing it. The only exception is a special rule found in another part of the law.
571.017. for both and crime committed with , . — Nothing contained in any other of law, except as provided in 4 of section 571.015, shall prevent imposition of sentences for both armed criminal action and the crime committed by, with, or through the use, , or aid of a or deadly weapon.
