Unlawful transfer of weapons, penalty
This law is about giving or selling weapons to people who should not have them. A person breaks this law if they give or sell a gun or ammo to someone not allowed to own one, give a blackjack to a kid under 18 without a parent's okay, carelessly give a gun to a kid under 18 without a parent's okay, or carelessly give a gun or ammo to someone who is drunk. Giving weapons to a police officer or military member on duty is still allowed. The first violation is a felony, and the other violations are misdemeanors.

571.060. of weapons, . — 1. A person commits the of unlawful transfer of weapons if he:
(1) sells, leases, loans, gives away or a firearm or ammunition for a firearm to any person who, under the of section 571.070, is not lawfully entitled to possess such;
(2) Knowingly sells, leases, loans, gives away or delivers a to a person less than eighteen years old without the of the child's or , or , as defined in section 562.016, sells, leases, loans, gives away or delivers any firearm to a person less than eighteen years old without the consent of the child's custodial parent or guardian; provided, that this does not prohibit the of such weapons to any or member of the or Guard while performing his official duty; or
(3) Recklessly, as defined in section 562.016, sells, leases, loans, gives away or delivers a firearm or ammunition for a firearm to a person who is .
2. Unlawful transfer of weapons under (1) of 1 of this section is a ; unlawful transfer of weapons under (2) and (3) of subsection 1 of this section is a .
