Unlawful possession of an explosive weapon, offense of

It is against the law for certain people to have an explosive weapon. Those people are: anyone convicted of a serious violent crime (or who tried to commit one, or was in prison for one within the last 5 years), anyone running from the law, anyone who is regularly drunk or on drugs, or anyone a court has ruled mentally incompetent. Breaking this law is a class D felony, which is a serious crime.

571.072. possession of an , of — . — 1. A person commits the offense of unlawful possession of an explosive weapon if he or she has any explosive weapon in his or her possession and:

(1) He or she has pled guilty to or has been of a , as defined in section 556.061, or of an attempt to commit a dangerous felony, or of an offense under the laws of any state or of the United States which, if committed within this state, would be a dangerous felony, or confined therefor in this state or elsewhere during the five-year period immediately preceding the date of such possession; or

(2) He or she is a , is in an or drugged condition, or is currently .
