Duty to carry and display permit, penalty for violation
Someone with a concealed carry permit must have that permit with them any time they are carrying a hidden gun. If a police officer asks, the person must show the permit and a government photo ID. Not doing this is not a crime, but the person can get a small fine of up to $35. Also, the state official who put permit info on driver's licenses is not responsible if something goes wrong — that official was just recording what the sheriff decided.
571.121. Duty to carry and display , for violation — , when. — 1.
