Illegal reentry, offense of, penalty
This law is about people who were kicked out of the United States for serious reasons and then come back without permission. If someone was removed from the U.S. for certain serious reasons and then enters Missouri and commits certain crimes — like assault, domestic assault, drug felonies, or theft — that person has committed the offense of illegal reentry. The same applies if a person commits one of those crimes in another state first and then enters Missouri. This offense is a class C felony.

577.685. Illegal , of, . — 1. A person commits the offense of illegal reentry if he or she has been from the United States for any of the reasons listed under 8 U.S.C. Section 1326(b) and thereafter:
(1) Illegally enters this state and commits a offense of or under chapter 565, any offense as the term "dangerous felony" is defined in* section 556.061, any offense under chapter 579, with the of any offense involving the possession of marijuana, any offense under section 570.030, or any offense under section 570.217; or
(2) Commits an offense in any other state that would be considered a misdemeanor offense of assault or domestic assault under chapter 565, any dangerous felony offense as the term "dangerous felony" is defined in section 556.061, any felony offense under chapter 579, with the exception of any offense involving the possession of marijuana, any offense under section 570.030, or any offense under section 570.217 under the laws of this state, and thereafter enters this state.
